Planned Testing

MARKET

All electrical installations over time will deteriorate naturally as they are a working mechanism made up of various components and working systems.

Much like an MOT for car, it is important that you ensure you carry out checks on the condition of the electrics in your home/office at regular intervals. This will help you identify any faults or defects which could require improvement and will ensure the continued operation of the installation in a safe and effective manner.

If you would like to book us to do an inspection, we offer planned testing to ensure your safety.

Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) identifies any damage, deterioration, defects and/or conditions which may give rise to danger along with observations for which improvement is recommended.

The purpose of an EICR (also known as periodic inspection and testing of an electrical installation), is to determine, so far as is reasonably practicable, whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. It is generally recommended that an EICR is carried out every ten years (five for privately rented properties or office buildings) or when there is a change of occupancy in a dwelling.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Portable Appliance Testing or PAT Testing is the process of checking electrical appliances for safety through a series of visual inspections and electronic tests

Upon completion of the portable appliance inspection and testing you will receive a report that details the following as a minimum:

  • An inventory containing each appliance type, name, location and description

  • A full set of test results for each appliance tested

  • A full list of any failed items with an explanation of their failure

  • A visible pass or fail label on each appliance detailing the inspection date, next test due and the Inspector’s signature.

We also offer planned testing to your Fire alarm, Emergency lighting and CCTV systems, please go to the relevant section for more information.
